These terms cover your use of Coconut. Using the app means you accept them.
We are a search and comparison service. We look at weather forecasts, historical climate records, flight prices and accommodation rates, and we show you which trips match what you asked for.
We are not a travel agency, a tour operator or a travel seller. We do not sell flights, hotels or holidays. We do not take payment for travel, we do not hold your money, and we are not a party to any booking you make.
The only thing we ever charge you for is a membership to this app. It appears on your card statement as COCONUT.COM.
If you ever see a charge from us for a flight, a hotel or a holiday, it is not us. Contact our contact form before you contact your bank and we will help you work out what it was.
A membership renews automatically for the same period until you cancel it. You can cancel whenever you like — there is a cancel link in your account and in every receipt, and no fee for using it.
Cancelling stops the next renewal. It does not end the period you are already in: you keep full access until the term you have paid for runs out, and an annual membership is a commitment for that year rather than month to month. So a cancellation part-way through a year is not refunded — you simply keep everything you bought until the year ends, and are not charged again.
If you cancel by mistake, or you cancel and change your mind before the term ends, email our contact form and we will put it back.
If a payment ever comes off that you did not expect — a renewal you thought you had cancelled, or a charge you cannot place — write to us before you dispute it with your bank. We would far rather refund something ourselves than have you pay a dispute fee.
When you choose a trip, you leave this site and book with the airline, hotel, operator or booking site that is actually selling it. Your contract for that trip is with them, not with us. Their terms, their cancellation policy and their refund rules apply, and you should read them.
Which means, plainly: we cannot cancel, change, refund or rebook a trip for you. Only the company you booked with can.
Travel prices move constantly and inventory sells out. We show you the price a supplier quoted us at the moment we asked. The price you see here can differ from the price on the booking site by the time you get there, and a trip we showed you may already be gone.
Where a supplier publishes its taxes and fees, we fold them into the total we show you. Where a supplier does not publish them, we say so on the result rather than guessing. We do not knowingly show a price that excludes compulsory charges without flagging it.
Weather data comes from Open-Meteo. Within roughly sixteen days we show a forecast. Beyond that we show historical averages for that place and time of year, clearly labelled as history rather than forecast.
A forecast is a forecast and an average is an average. Neither is a promise about the weather on your trip, and we are not liable if the weather is not what the data suggested.
If you book through some of the links here, we may earn a commission from the seller at no extra cost to you. This never changes your price, and it does not change the ranking: results are ordered on price and weather. Plenty of what you will see comes from sources that pay us nothing.
The service is provided as it is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, that every price or piece of data is accurate, or that you will find a trip that suits you. To the extent the law allows, our liability to you is limited to what you have paid us for your membership in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, you keep every right your local consumer law gives you, and nothing in these terms takes those away.
We can change these terms. If a change materially affects a paying member, we will tell them by email before it takes effect.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the laws of Canada that apply there.
